Hello Mark,
Indeed frustrating that there is no support for OS X for SMA tools and software. OS X is more prominent than windows app engineers and marketeers realise!.
There is a temp solution, install virtual box on OS X and an windows virtual guest.
Install SMA explorer for PC.
Make sure you have a bluetooth dongle via USB on the MAC that is supported by windows. You can switch this on in the virtual box usb devices config option.
sma explorer works fine with this.
